Each piece in our lacquerware collection is handmade in Vietnam, using traditional techniques that have been employed for centuries to create unique, beautiful, and durable objects.

From harvesting the tree sap from which the lacquer is made to sanding and custom-fitting the wooden base, each step of the manufacturing process is carried out entirely by hand. Skilled lacquerware artisans apply Caspari’s designs to the wood, adding gold leaf, silver leaf, and hand-painted accents where needed, then patiently apply multiple layers of high-gloss lacquer to finish and protect each piece.
